GenoQuick® MRSA - When speed counts

Your test system for direct detection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains from patient samples

reaction zones GenoQuick® MRSAOur GenoQuick® MRSA test system allows you to have fast and reliable direct detection of methicillin-resistant S. aureus from patient samples. Based on the GenoQuick® technology, the test system is primarily suited for primary screening of patients with a suspicion of MRSA. A reliable test result is achieved after only approx. 2.5 hours. Through the detection of a MRSA-specific fragment which is not present either in MSSA or coagulase-negative staphylococci, MRSA can also be reliably detected in mixed colonisations. Thus, unlike conventional diagnostics, a pure culture is not necessary. Valuable time is thus saved, and if necessary, hygiene and isolation measures can be promptly taken and therapeutic steps initiated.

Your benefits with GenoQuick® MRSA

  • High specificity: through the detection of a MRSA-specific fragment, mix-ups with MSSA or coagulase-negative staphylococci are avoided. MRSA can thus also be reliably detected in the presence of mixed populations.
  • Fast result: performing a test directly from the smear swab makes it possible to obtain a result in only approx. 2.5 hours. A bacterial culture does not need to be produced and valuable time is saved.
  • Reliable result: because of the very high sensitivity of the test, a valid result is possible at any time even in the presence of only small amounts of bacteria of 12 - 30 CFU (colony forming units).
  • Easy-to-use: colored solutions prevent pipetting errors; due to the shortened detection, pipette use is minimal.
  • Cost-effective: no cost-intensive instrumentation needed to perform the assay, therefore this cost-effective set-up is also possible for smaller laboratories.
