GenoType® MRSA Direct - Rapid diagnosis even for mixed infections

Your test system for direct detection of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus strains from patient samples

reaction zones GenoType® MRSA DirectTo detect MRSA directly from patient samples, the GenoType® MRSA Direct is a rapid and reliable tool for efficient primary screening. Based on the proven GenoType® technology, the test system enables unambiguous and meaningful results even in the presence of mixed colonisations through the detection of a MRSA-specific fragment beeing not present either in MSSA or coagulase-negative staphylococci. In contrast to conventional diagnostics, a pure culture is thus not necessary.

Because of the speed with which the test can be performed, the GenoType® MRSA Direct can reliably confirm or rebut a suspicion of MRSA within only 4 hours.

Your benefits with the GenoType® MRSA Direct

  • Specificity and unambiguousness: By the detection of a MRSA-specific fragment as well as the SCCmec types I-V, a reliable result is possible at any time - even from mixed populations.
  • Reliable results: Due to the high sensitivity of the test system, valid results are obtained even in the presence of only 20 - 30 CFU.
  • Automation: The detection step can be fully automated by using the easy-to-use hybridization equipment GT-Blot 48.
  • Fast: Direct patient specimens serve as starting material, a bacterial culture is not necessary. The result is available in only about 4 hours.
  • CE marked: No need for elaborate validation studies!
